Our Campus Story - The Kickoff Part 2

Our Campus Story is a new series highlighting the journey and success of our students as they work to create positive change on campus. Come back each week to read more about what drives our mission and the achievements of the 2017-18 Academic year.

As our campus visits continue, our focus now turns to our intern teams in the Western Region. This past week, Carlos and Juan visited their schools in California and Texas to discuss plans for the upcoming semester and their goals for successful outreach.

Carlos’ first campus visit once he made it out to the Bay Area was to San Francisco State University. What he found there was a group of passionate activists who were eager to hit the ground running. The first thing they wanted to do was go through some of the trainings they had participated in during our Relationship Building Institute a month earlier. Afterwards, the team got together to identify the communities they wanted to do outreach for during the upcoming semester. Carlos walked away impressed by the buy-in of not just the students, but also of the professional staff of SF Hillel. We are looking forward to a great year with SF State!

Juan's visit in Southern California was an exciting time for reunions, as well as meeting some new faces. "I had an incredible visit where I got to meet the new faces of USC including Gretel, the Executive Director's dog!" Juan Said. "I met with new and returning students to strategically plan our outreach for this year. I'm very excited to strengthen our relationship with the Christian community through interfaith dialogue and service. Go Trojans!"
