Our Campus Story is a new series highlighting the journey and success of our students as they work to create positive change on campus. Come back each week to read more about what drives our mission and the achievements of the 2017-18 Academic year.
As we begin our first campus visits of the new school year, a major focus is goals and expectations for the semester. As each of our intern teams conduct their first meetings, students will work to identify key areas of campus for outreach, and important communities for relationship building.
These past few weeks, Maddi and Michael traveled to several campuses to discuss goals for the semester, while identifying important groups through campus mapping.
One of Maddi's first visits was to the University of Cincinnati. During this visit, Maddi was pleased to see the passion and drive by her students, both in goal setting and outreach planning.
"I'm so excited for this team at The University of Cincinnati. Everyone is excited and motivated to kick off the year. They have so many great programming ideas that they hope to implement, and I can't wait to see what they do."
One of Michael's first campus visits was to the University of Pennsylvania. As the interns began their first meeting, Michael was excited to see the innovative approach to Israel education through the incredible work of their Israel Fellow, Inbal Pearlman.
"Hillel at the University of Pennsylvania has worked with us to implement a unique model known as the Israel Learning Lab. This model introduces Jewish and non-Jewish students to nuanced elements of Israeli society, while focusing on the importance of relationship building with other students. I'm excited to see how this approach could provide new opportunities for students to learn about Israel."
As we continue our campus journeys, stay tuned for more features on the amazing work of our interns and the success they achieve on campus. See you next week!
