Last month, David Project interns at Queens College worked with the Student Association at Queens College, the Israel Student Association, and the Jewish National Fund to bring Titi Aynaw to Queens College. As one of our interns, Katie Glickman described, Titi's incredible story and vibrant personality made a lasting impression on the students who attended:
"On Monday October 30, 2017 we were so excited to welcome the first Ethiopian Miss Israel, Titi Aynaw to Queens College! The Student Association of Queens College, the Israel Students Association, Queens College Hillel, and The David Project at Queens College all teamed up with JNF, who connected us with Titi, for this exciting event! The large audience spent the afternoon bonding over Titi’s amazing story, her vivacious and hilarious personality, and of course, the pizza generously sponsored by the David Project! We hosted students affiliated with Hillel, Tamid, and the Israel Students Association, as well as students from Macaulay Honors College, the Student Association of Queens College, and other individuals who were intrigued by Titi’s story. Titi’s fascinating background made her an appealing speaker for a wide range of Queens College students, and we were excited to welcome those who have come to our David Project events in the past, and newcomers! A special thanks to JNF for making this all happen!"
