Why do you care about Israel?
Israel is at the heart of the Jewish identity, and ultimately what will allow us to continue as a people.
What do I want others to know about Israel after getting to know me?
Israel is a complicated place, and as human as its residents. It's special not just because of what it is, but because of what we want it to be, and therefore it is possible, even necessary, to at once criticize it and love it.
What's your favorite part about interning with The David Project?
The David Project is honest. We don't shy away from hard conversations, and we thrive on conveying nuance, rather than regurgitating talking points.
Why do you think it's important to build relationships across campus communities?
Talking honestly and productively about Israel requires an emotional vulnerability and a sense of trust that can only come from genuine connection with our peers and allies.
What are you most looking forward to as an intern this semester?
I'm excited to continue strengthening our relationships with groups across the Vanderbilt campus, and to keep advancing my own relationship with the Jewish State.
