Juan Gilces-Coronel
Senior Campus Coordinator
Southern California & Texas

Juan joined The David Project team in June 2016. Born in Ecuador to a family of Sephardic Jewish background, Juan grew up in Miami, Florida where he attended Florida International University with a major in International Relations and certificates in Latin American, Jewish, and Middle East Studies. While at FIU, Juan was a founding father of his Zeta Beta Tau chapter, worked as a Resident Assistant and later served as the Student Body Vice President. Juan was also a key leader in Hillel at FIU, Shalom FIU, and Chabad FIU where he was a Sinai Scholar. With The David Project he was a campus intern for two years, and participated on The David Project’s Israel Uncovered Campus Leaders Mission and the Relationship Building Institute. Juan loves learning about other cultures, and doing volunteer work in his spare time. He first visited Israel in the summer of 2012 to volunteer in a reserve infantry unit of the IDF where he experienced first-hand Operation Pillar of Defense. While Juan remains very passionate about Israel, he is also passionate about public service, social justice, and international affairs.
