Summer 2013 Relationship Building Institute

June 16-18, 2013; optional extension on June 19

Join us this summer in Washington, D.C. for our Relationship Building Institute. Learn about the importance of relationship building on campus for Israel, acquire the tools necessary for effective engagement, and have the chance to meet with your peers interning with diverse interest organizations.

Optional extension: Stay for a day of intensive Israel education. Discuss current issues in the Middle East, meet with high-level policy thinkers, and tackle challenging questions.

  • Hone your communication skills: Effective relationship building is all about knowing how to listen and ask the right questions.
  • Practice sharing your story and making Israel relevant to others.
  • Learn to leverage your network: Your reach on campus is broader than you think.

Travel Subsidy and Other Information

Registration Fee

The cost of the program is only $100. This fee covers your room, food, materials and a travel subsidy. The fee is due at the time you fill out your application and secures your spot on our program. If you need to cancel after paying the fee, it is refundable up to 15 business days before the start date of the program.

Travel Subsidy Information

Based on average travel costs to D.C., we will be providing a specific dollar amount grant for your travel to and from the Institute. You will receive a reimbursement check from us to cover your travel costs upon completion of the program and submission of your receipts. We advise you to book your travel arrangements soon before the prices go up. Receipts for travel reimbursement must be received in our office 10 business days prior to the start of the program in order to receive a check on the last day of the seminar. The travel stipend includes all non-local transportation related expenses (i.e. flight, train or bus costs). Travel reimbursements will be issued up to the amounts below, based on from where you are traveling to D.C.

Lodging

Dormitory lodging will be provided in the George Washington University Mount Vernon Campus dormitories. You will receive your room assignment and room key upon arrival. Sheets, blankets, towels and pillows will be provided in your room. All students must stay in their assigned dormitory room for the duration of the seminar.

Meals

All meals will be kosher. Dietary laws will be observed for all meals. If you have any special dietary needs, please inform us in your application, so we can accommodate them.

Attire

Dress is casual for Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. For Monday, dress is business.
